(b) To seek fair and equitable infrastructure planning and pollution assessment processes and regulations.
(c) To support ecological sustainability in all projects affecting the local area.

(e) To disseminate information to the public on issues related to urban air pollution and planning.

The Who, What, Why, and How ?:

The M5 East tunnel, opened in December 2001, is 4 kms long, carries over 94,000 cars and trucks a day. At $800 million, it is the RTA's biggest project, the longest road tunnel in the Southern Hemisphere and, one of the world's largest in terms of traffic. Since its opening, there have been significant and systemic air quality problems in the tunnel and around the stack.
